Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is seeking caring, energetic, and dependable individuals to join our Beyond the Bell After School Care Program for the 2026–2027 school year. Beyond the Bell is more than an after-school program—it is an extension of our Catholic school community where students continue to grow in faith, friendships, creativity, and character after the final bell rings. We are looking for team members who enjoy working with children and are committed to providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where every student feels welcomed and valued.
The ideal candidate is patient, responsible, enthusiastic, and enjoys building positive relationships with children. Staff members work collaboratively to supervise students, facilitate activities, assist with homework, and create meaningful experiences that reflect the mission and values of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School.
Responsibilities and Tasks:

Supervise students in Junior Kindergarten through 8th grade during after-school care.

Foster a safe, welcoming, and faith-filled environment where students feel known and cared for.

Lead and participate in recreational activities, games, crafts, outdoor play, and enrichment opportunities.

Provide homework support and encourage positive study habits.

Monitor student behavior using positive guidance and effective classroom management techniques.

Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure the safe dismissal of students to authorized adults.

Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and program leadership.

Follow all Diocese of Richmond and Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School policies and safety procedures.
Physical Demands/Environment:
The staff member is expected to supervise students and the safe environment of the school, and may involve work in classrooms, on the playground, and other parts of our campus.
Working Conditions:
This is a part-time position.
Professional Qualifications:

Experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or recreation setting is preferred.
