Duties
- Prepare meals according to established menus, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with food control and ordering the right amount of food to avoid over spending.
- Handle food with care, following strict food safety and sanitation protocols to prevent contamination
- Support food preparation activities, including chopping, mixing and cooking.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
Experience
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience in food handling, meal preparation, and cooking within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Knowledge of menu planning, food safety regulations, and proper knife skills for efficient kitchen work
- Experience in catering or large-scale food service environments is advantageous
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, food industry standards, and culinary techniques is beneficial
- Strong understanding of dietary requirements and ability to adapt recipes accordingly
- Previous roles involving serving or food presentation will support success in this position
