Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including models with manual transmissions, across designated routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
- Drive flatbeds 18ft truck with dump load and hand unloads.
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, monitor traffic conditions, and ensure on-time deliveries.
- Handle logistics cargo with precision, including hazardous materials in accordance with hazardous materials regulations and dangerous goods protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of driving hours, delivery documentation, and vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed to uphold fleet safety and reliability.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license class E with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery operations.
- Proficiency in operating trucks with manual transmissions and familiarity with various truck types such as a flatbed
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting commercial goods.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload activities.
- Experience using GPS navigation systems for route planning and traffic management.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures and safety standards.
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and manual tasks involved in freight handling.
