Key Responsibilities:
Student Support
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students with higher needs.
- Assist students with classroom assignments and understanding lessons.
- Support behavior management strategies and implement IEPs.
- Monitor and encourage student progress academically, socially, and emotionally.
Instructional Assistance
- Adapt lessons and materials under the guidance of the resource room teacher.
- Reinforce learning concepts taught by the teacher.
- Assist in preparing instructional materials and resources.
Behavioral Support
- Implement positive behavior support plans.
- Observe and report student behavior and progress.
- Encourage positive social interactions among students.
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with teachers, specialists, and staff as part of a collaborative team.
- Communicate effectively with staff and families regarding student needs and progress.
- Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a safe, organized, and respectful learning environment.
- Assist with classroom routines and transitions.
- Support students in following rules and expectations
Job Qualifications
Pass a background check
High School Diploma required
Associates Degree or ParaPro Test required
Bachelors Degree recommended
Experience in Special Education recommended
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
