The Position
The Maple Grove Community Center is seeking a Water Safety Instructor Aide. In this position, you will assist in the instruction of participants in the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program. Additionally, you will help foster a fun and energetic learning environment for all participants. Come make a difference by joining our growing and diverse community!

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Maintain safety of students and pool area at all times.

Follow the direction of the Water Safety Instructor or Aquatic Coordinator's.

Familiarization and enforcement of all pool policies and rules to students and peers.

Full knowledge of the progression card skills for each program level.

Begin classes promptly, and make use of the entire class time by demonstrating skills and activities.

Teach students the skills on the progression cards using a variety of activities in a positive manner.

Request assistance from supervisor when students are ready to be tested on skills.

Have classes set up before class starting time for safety and convenience of the students and instructors.

Assist in cleaning and sanitizing pool area between lessons and at the end of daily lessons, and return all supplies to proper storage area.

Assist in all accident and emergency procedures and participate in emergency situations as needed.

Work cooperatively with others.

Participate in in-service training as coordinated by the aquatic coordinator.

Perform other related duties as requested by supervisor.
