Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed descriptions of food and beverage options.
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely and correct processing of sales transactions.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently, including cocktails, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately while processing payments via POS systems like OpenTable or other platforms.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all service areas, including bussing tables and assisting with food handling when needed.
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring a memorable dining experience.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant environments, or the food industry with a focus on fine dining preferred.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms; experience with sales transaction processing is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a busy setting while multitasking between serving, bussing, and assisting team members.
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques to enhance guest experiences.
- Basic math skills for accurate bill calculation, cash handling, and processing payments efficiently.
- Food safety certification and understanding of sanitation standards required; experience with food handling is a plus.
- Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation management tools is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a friendly attitude to foster guest satisfaction and team collaboration.
