Duties
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product demos when needed
- Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments with precision and integrity
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring proper stocking of register supplies
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Support merchandising and stocking activities to keep the sales floor appealing and well-stocked
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
- Ensure compliance with all cash handling procedures and retail policies
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership growth opportunities
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for cash handling and sales transactions
- Customer service experience that demonstrates patience, active listening, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, including merchandising, stocking, and product demos, is beneficial
