American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring an active CA RN license and 2+ years of PACU experience with ICU background.
-
Work in the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) of a hospital setting
-
Care for geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients from admission through discharge
-
13-week assignment length
-
Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts, start times between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM
-
No weekend shifts required
-
Floating to other campuses required if needed based on census
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Active CA RN license required
-
Current BLS (AHA) certification required
-
Current ACLS certification required
-
Current PALS certification preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required, preferably in a high acute care hospital

ICU experience required
-
Extensive cardiac/cath lab experience preferred
-
Epic charting system experience required
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Proficiency in peri-anesthesia standards of care, airway management, and pharmacology required
-
Provide individualized peri-anesthesia nursing care based on nursing process and pharmacology knowledge

Perform nursing assessments and manage airway, cardiovascular, neurological, and respiratory care for post-anesthesia patients
-
Administer and monitor medications including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, IV vasopressors, and reversal agents
-
Support a range of surgical specialties including cardiac, neuro, ortho, GI, GYN, urology, and more
-
Manage patients undergoing various anesthesia types including general, spinal, MAC, and nerve blocks
-
Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for local candidate consideration
-
Holiday coverage may be required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
-
Only one holiday request off per contract will be approved
-
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract

Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation to be eligible to return as a traveler
