Job Overview
We are seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, troubleshoot, and commission industrial automation systems for a variety of manufacturing applications. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll take ownership of projects from concept and design through startup and customer commissioning.
The ideal candidate will have experience with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, electrical design, and industrial controls. Experience with robotics, motion control, or machine vision is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC systems including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, and Omron platforms.
- Develop and maintain HMI and SCADA applications for industrial automation systems.
- Design electrical control panels, wiring diagrams, and complete electrical documentation packages.
- Create and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and technical drawings.
- Configure and troubleshoot servo systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), machine safety circuits, and industrial control hardware.
- Support integration of robotics, machine vision systems, and advanced automation technologies when required.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and system commissioning activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, controls, and automation issues during startup and production.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules, budgets, and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams to ensure successful project execution from proposal through startup.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Hands-on experience designing, programming, and troubleshooting industrial control systems.
- Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation platforms.
- Ability to read, create, and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to resolving issues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotics or machine vision systems.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Profinet, or EtherCAT.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, OSHA standards, and machine safety requirements.
- Previous experience with commissioning, startup support, or field service activities.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
