Responsibilities:
Plan and organize meals according to needs of the restaurant.
Coordinate with other kitchen staff to determine menu items that can be prepared in a timely manner.
Create meal plans for different customers using the knowledge you have about the ingredients in your pantry and the pieces of equipment available.
Conform to standard kitchen safety protocols.
Understand sanitation procedures.
Have knowledge of different types of food and how they are prepared.
Monitor the quality of food being prepared.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff on successful dining experiences for customers.
