Our client is currently seeking a qualified Network and Data Center Architect to join their team onsite in Andover, MA. This Architect will lead the design, implementation, and support of the enterprise infrastructure environment. This role will be responsible for network architecture, data center technologies, virtualization, storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions across a multi-site environment.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide architectural leadership while partnering closely with operations, engineering, and business stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Network Architecture
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure
Develop and support LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and security solutions
Manage Cisco Catalyst and Meraki networking environments
Define network standards, segmentation, resiliency, and high-availability strategies
Lead network upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management initiatives
Data Center & Virtualization
Design and support data center infrastructure and virtualization platforms
Manage VMware ESXi and vCenter environments
Drive capacity planning, performance optimization, and high-availability strategies
Support server infrastructure and hardware lifecycle planning
Storage, Backup & Disaster Recovery
Architect and support enterprise storage solutions using Dell EMC platforms
Manage storage provisioning, performance optimization, and capacity planning
Oversee backup and recovery solutions, including cloud-based data protection
Ensure disaster recovery readiness and compliance with recovery objectives
Infrastructure & Operations
Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex infrastructure and network issues
Support incident, change, and problem management processes
Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and internal support teams
Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures
Leadership & Collaboration
Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance
Partner with infrastructure, security, and application teams on strategic initiatives
Mentor engineers and support knowledge-sharing across teams
Present recommendations and solutions to technical and business stakeholders
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 8+ years of experience in network, infrastructure, or data center architecture
Strong experience with:
Cisco Catalyst switching (9200/9300 series)
Cisco Meraki (MX, MS, Wireless)
SD-WAN, routing, and network segmentation
VMware ESXi and vCenter
Enterprise storage solutions
Backup and disaster recovery platforms
Experience supporting multi-site enterprise environments
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Strategic thinker with strong technical depth
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to balance architecture, operations, and business needs
Strong focus on reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement

Familiarity with ITIL-based service delivery environments
Automation or scripting experience (Ansible, PowerShell, Python, etc.)
Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, VCP, or equivalent

Wage Range:
The rate for this position is between $65.47 - $87.29 per hour, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
