D&B Engineers and Architects is hiring a Senior Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to join our collaborative team of experienced engineers, architects, scientists and other professionals.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for financial reporting, month-end close, project accounting, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations. The position will also serve as a key contributor to the administration, improvement, and future upgrade of the firm’s project accounting ERP system.
The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, excellent analytical skills, and experience in a project-based engineering, architecture, construction, or professional-services environment.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Support month-end and year-end close and ensure deadlines are met.
- Manage project accounting, including revenue recognition, WIP, costs, accruals, and contract payment terms.
- Oversee accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable payments, payroll accounting, and employee expenses.
- Review accounting staff’s work for accuracy, proper coding, documentation, and policy compliance.
- Administer and support the project accounting ERP system and participate in upgrades and system improvements.
- Develop financial reports, analyses, and schedules using advanced Excel functions.
- Supervise and train accounting staff and provide support across accounting functions as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field is required
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with project accounting, is required.
- Experience with a project ERP system is required, BST Global experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of WIP accounting and paid-when-paid concepts
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

$85,000 – $110,000
