This is a skilled level position based at the Taylor Shellfish Fabrication Shop in Shelton, WA and will be responsible for cutting & fitting of parts according to drawings, welding aluminum, steel and stainless alloys, finish work, clean & organize as needed, etc.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Involved in the construction and repair of various equipment built & operated by Taylor Shellfish,

Lay out, position, align, and fit components together using hand tools and tables,

Bolts, clamps, tack welds parts to secure in position for welding according to blueprints, engineering sketches and welding procedure specifications,

Repairs products and equipment by dismantling, cutting, gouging, grinding, straightening, reshaping and/or re-welding as needed,

Must always follow all safety measures before welding,
-
Help in keeping the shop a safe and efficient work area.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must possess & maintain a valid Washington driver’s license with clean driving record,
-
Ability to make quality welds using MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW processes on Aluminum, Mild & High Carbon Steels, & Stainles Steels

Must be able to read and understand; technical manuals, standard operating procedures, schematics, and measuring tapes,
-
Must supply personal tools

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, JOB & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years minimum welding & fabrication experience required,
-
Aluminum fabrication or boatbuilding experience preferred,
-
Formal training from an accredited technical college or trade school or completion of an equivalent multi-year apprenticeship program preferred, but not required,
-
Must complete and maintain in-house forklift, tractor, first aid, safety, and H.R., trainings,
-
Familiarity with Office 365 apps, Mpulse C.M.M.S., E Drawings a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to sit, stand and/or walk on uneven ground up to 16 hours per day,

Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and squat 100% percent of the time,

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. (Occasionally required to exert up to 125 lbs. of force),

The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
