The Kent Companies is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC/R Maintenance Technician to join our growing maintenance team. If you're a self-motivated technician who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and food service equipment, we'd love to hear from you.
This position services our convenience stores and commercial facilities, helping keep our operations running safely and efficiently. Weekend and on-call availability may be required.
What You'll Do
As a Commercial HVAC/R Technician, you'll be responsible for:
- Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Servicing walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, rooftop units, furnaces, make-up air units, beverage dispensers, fryers, ovens, griddles, hot holds, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
- Performing preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled service.
- Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues.
- Replacing compressors, motors, thermostats, valves, belts, controls, filters, coils, and related components.
- Installing and repairing copper tubing, refrigeration piping, and HVAC systems.
- Completing work orders through the company maintenance management system.
- Maintaining inventory and organization of your service vehicle.
- Responding to emergency maintenance calls as needed.
- Working safely while following company and industry standards.
Qualifications
We're looking for candidates who have:
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC/R experience.
- 3+ years of commercial kitchen equipment repair experience.
- 3+ years of general building maintenance experience, including light plumbing and electrical work.
- Experience using computerized maintenance or work order systems.
- EPA Type I & II Certification (required).
- NATE Certification (preferred, but not required).
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- The ability to work independently while delivering excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must successfully pass a hair follicle drug screen and other pre-employment requirements.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and occasional weekend work.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically active position requiring the ability to:
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and work overhead throughout the day.
- Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and service equipment.
