Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required
- Valid Educational Interpreter License issued by the GaPSC
- Previous experience interpreting for school-aged children or within educational settings
- Familiarity with K-12 classroom environments and the needs of diverse learners
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Dedication to fostering inclusive and accessible learning outcomes
Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person sign language interpretation for students across general and special education classrooms
- Support student engagement and understanding through clear and accurate interpretation of classroom instruction, discussions, and school events
- Collaborate with educators, specialists, and support staff to ensure seamless communication and integration of services
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all school interactions
- Participate in meetings, IEPs, and other events as needed to support the educational team
- Adapt interpretation styles to suit individual student needs and classroom settings
