Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: Fountain Inn, SC 29644
Pay Rate: $18.00-$24.00
Shift: 1st shift and 2nd shift
Monday through Friday
7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Ensures manufacturing equipment is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) product quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. Responsible for set up and operation of machines in the manufacturing line producing ceramic capacitors, including making adjustments to machines in order to run properly.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform all load and unload operations according to procedures.
Loads saggars with raw material on ceramic kilns according to procedures.
Make temperature checks as required.
Change ceramic kilns temperatures per schedule to run different material according to specifications.
Unloads fired product from saggars and identifies by lot number.
Notifies supervision/engineers of equipment malfunctions.
Keep the Kiln area and equipment clean and orderly.
Process products per the production planning.
Notify a supervision or engineer of out of specification conditions or any non-conformity relating to the product.
Move completed product to its designated areas.
Must follow and adhere to all safety policies.
Other duties as assigned.
- Sets up and operates machinery according to work instructions and specifications.
- Studies blueprints, work orders, and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed.
- Selects, places, and secures tools.
- Observe each machine to verify quality performance.
- Verifies measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers are in proper working order.
- Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma, AS Degree or equivalent required; technical/vocational school diploma highly preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience as a machine operator required.
- Experience set up machines.
- Able to perform simple data entry and use Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of basic arithmetic, negative numbers, decimals and fractions.
- Able to read and understand technical reports, process specifications, and office correspondence.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
- 90% of the shift is spent standing.
