JOB DESCRIPTION
Build and lead a growing landscape maintenance division.
Flora Landscape Contractors is a Baton Rouge–based landscape company, and we're hiring a Director of Maintenance Services to build and run our entire Landscape Maintenance division. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the COO, with full ownership of the division's profit and loss, growth, client relationships, and team.
This is a build role. We are not handing over a finished team — we are hiring the leader who will build it. On day one you'll run the division hands-on: owning key client relationships directly and leading our existing field crews. As results and volume grow, you'll recruit, hire, and develop an Account Manager and a Production Manager beneath you, and grow into leading the division through them. If you've built or scaled a division or branch before and want to own the outcome, this is your seat.
What You'll Do
- Own the Maintenance division's P&L — revenue, gross margin, and growth
- Operate hands-on at first: personally manage key client relationships and lead the field team through the crew supervisors
- Recruit, hire, and develop an Account Manager and a Production Manager as the division scales; build the structure, standards, and bench
- Drive client retention, contract renewals, and organic growth through enhancements and upsells
- Run the division's weekly leadership meeting and scorecard; keep one disciplined operating rhythm
- Own field quality, the client experience, and division safety — a safe crew, every day
- Manage labor, equipment, and materials to protect margin
- Report division performance to the COO and surface risks and opportunities early
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years in commercial landscape maintenance (or related field service), including division, branch, or multi-crew leadership
- Proven experience building or scaling a division/branch — you've hired and developed managers and stood up structure, not just maintained a mature operation
- Proven P&L ownership: you've grown revenue and managed margin to target
- Track record of client retention and organic growth (renewals, enhancements, upsells)
- Strong knowledge of horticulture and maintenance operations; Gulf South / Zone 9a experience a plus
- Financially literate — comfortable with budgets, job costing, and labor management
- Experience running a disciplined operating cadence (EOS / L10 a plus)
- Proficiency with landscape/field software (LMN or similar) and QuickBooks
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Nice to Have
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) — strongly preferred; our field team is largely Spanish-speaking
- Industry certifications (horticulture, irrigation, pesticide applicator)
Who You Are
- A builder who's comfortable operating hands-on and creating structure where there isn't any yet
- A commercially minded leader who grows revenue and protects margin
- A strong developer of managers and teams
- Decisive, accountable, and safety- and quality-driven
Our Core Values
Resilient · Do the Right Thing · Be a Team Player · Excellence in Everything · Be Accountable · Optimize Relentlessly
