Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation, ensuring that each dish is prepared to perfection and meets our restaurant's standards.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal dishes and specials.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and cooking appliances.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs for replenishment.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or as a dietary aide is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, including knife skills and cooking methods.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in the kitchen environment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
