The Student Assistance Student Worker will support day-to-day operations of the WCC Food Pantry, Care Cabinets and Food Baskets to ensure students have access to food, personal care items, and resources in a respectful and organized manner. The Student Assistance Student Worker is responsible to theStudent Support Services Manager.
Responsibilities
Assist with food pantry distribution, including checking in guests and guiding them through the process.
Assist with the Care Cabinets and Food Baskets by filling them twice a week.
Help sort, label, and restock food and supplies according to pantry guidelines.
Maintain a clean and organized pantry space and storage areas.
The Student Worker will support day-to-day operations of the WCC Food Pantry, Care Cabinets and Food Baskets to ensure students have access to food, personal care items, and resources in a respectful and organized manner.
Support inventory management, including restocking shelves, counting supplies, and reporting low-stock items.
Assist with intake and organization of items (unloading, sorting, and documenting items).
Support filling food baskets and care cabinets
Help coordinate outreach or events as needed (flyers, sign-in, setup/cleanup).
Follow all safety, food handling, and confidentiality procedures at all times.
Provide friendly, respectful customer service to guests.
Minimum Qualifications
A Waubonsee student enrolled in at least one credit.
Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or above.
Be in good standing with Student Conduct.
Be making Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Valid Driver License with a good driving record.
Must be able to lift and transit items up to 25 pounds
Be available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, at various locations (on- and off-campus).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work 10-20 hours per week.
Biluingual and Biliterate in English and Spanish.
Experience with Outlook email, Windows, and Microsoft Word.
