This is a great opportunity for someone with deep construction knowledge who wants to work with a growing Los Angeles-based general contracting company in a flexible, consulting, part-time, or project-based role.
Responsibilities
Inspect active residential remodeling, ADU, addition, kitchen, bathroom, and full home renovation projects.
Review work for quality, safety, code compliance, and construction best practices.
Identify potential issues with framing, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, waterproofing, drywall, tile, finishes, and overall workmanship.
Help prepare projects for Los Angeles city inspections.
Review subcontractor work and communicate corrections clearly.
Assist with punch lists, quality control, jobsite documentation, and construction reports.
Support field operations, site supervision, and project coordination.
Help improve systems, processes, and accountability across multiple projects.
Advise ownership and project teams on construction sequencing, scope issues, change orders, and inspection readiness.
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of construction experience preferred.
Strong understanding of Los Angeles residential construction, building codes, inspections, and jobsite standards.
Experience as a general contractor, building inspector, home inspector, superintendent, site supervisor, construction operations manager, or senior tradesperson.
Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, framing, waterproofing, mechanical systems, finishes, and code compliance.
Ability to identify poor workmanship, incomplete work, safety concerns, and inspection issues.
Strong communication skills and ability to explain corrections clearly.
Must be reliable, professional, organized, and detail-oriented.
Must be comfortable visiting active construction sites throughout Los Angeles.
Residential remodeling, ADU, addition, and custom home experience preferred.
Licensed general contractor, certified building inspector, home inspector certification, or trade license is a plus but not required for the right person.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who has been in the construction industry for many years and understands how projects actually get built. You may be a retired or semi-retired general contractor, former city inspector, experienced superintendent, home inspector, project manager, or construction operations professional who wants to help a growing company improve quality, systems, and jobsite performance.
