An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) position at a behavioral health treatment center in San Antonio, TX. This contract role begins on September 1, 2026, and will continue until a permanent hire is selected. The facility specializes in behavioral health with a 300+ licensed bed capacity and maintains an average daily census of 6-11 patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee pharmacy operations as the PIC, ensuring compliance with regulations and pharmacy standards
- Manage pharmacy staffing and administrative duties
- Utilize Order Entry System (HCS) with provided training
- Implement and manage site automation with Omnicell systems (training provided)
- Provide on-call coverage after each shift and throughout weekends
- Collaborate with clinical staff to support behavioral health pharmaceutical needs
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Current Texas pharmacist licensure (required)
- Experience in hospital pharmacy settings and Omnicell automation preferred
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage pharmacy staff effectively
- Ability to work flexible hours during weekdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, plus on-call duties
