Job Overview
Sundowner is seeking a skilled Product and Manufacturing Design Drafter to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and schematics that support the development and manufacture of Sundowner products. Your expertise in CAD software and mechanical drafting standards will be crucial in translating customer orders into detailed designs and drawings for production. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with industry standards.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 2D drawings of components and structural assemblies using AutoCAD software.
- Collaborate with others in Engineering along with Production and Marketing teams to interpret design concepts and translate them into accurate technical drawings.
- Support technical writing efforts by preparing detailed bill of materials, assembly instructions, and system descriptions as needed.
- Opportunity to perform 3D modeling using Autodesk Fusion for product design, mechanical drafting, and assembly visualization to facilitate manufacturing and assembly processes.
Expected Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting.
- Proven experience in mechanical drafting with proficiency in AutoCAD, Fusion, or similar CAD platforms.
- Experience with 3D modeling for product development and system design will be beneficial.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles combined with practical construction experience.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system layouts accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for technical writing and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of construction processes related to mechanical systems is highly desirable.
