This is a 2nd Shift (2:00pm to 10:30pm). Candidate must be able to train on 1st shift (6:00am to 2:30pm) for two to three months before going to 2nd shift.

CHAIN PRODUCTION OPERATOR
DESCRIPTION
Operators are responsible for producing chain across 4 different production lines. Operator’s day-to-day responsibilities including starting up and maintaining machines, trouble-shooting/repairing mechanical problems and producing quality product. Full description listed below.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ensures efficiency and quality in continuous chain production processes including drawing, bending, welding and calibrating.
- Sets up for designated operation, including preparation of fixtures, placement of wire, proper work holding, verification of set-up, proper loading of tooling on all continuous chain production operations.
- Monitors operations to include monitoring production sequences, observing line for proper functioning and responds immediately to developing situations to preserve machine and part integrity.
- Performs and/or verify completion of first-article and in-process inspection on all jobs and indicate such on production documentation.
- Reviews quality issues with quality assurance, manufacturing support, and engineering to resolve quality issues and take corrective actions as required.
- Ensures performance goals are established and met for scrap/rework, labor efficiencies, and on time deliveries.
- Applies basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5M:1994.
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
