Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing assistance to individuals facing challenges related to addiction, mental health, and behavioral health. This position requires a strong commitment to helping others and the ability to manage crises effectively and provide mentoring support.
Duties
- Provide direct support and to individuals dealing with addiction and mental health issues.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute situations effectively.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.
- Serve as a mentor, guiding and supporting clients throughout their recovery journey.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid Wisconsin Certified Peer Specialist certification
- Must have personal lived experience with mental health and/or substance use challenges, and demonstrate the ability to use that experience to support and empower others in their recovery journey.
- Knowledge of crisis management techniques and behavioral health systems is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Must adhere to all HIPAA guidelines by ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of client information at all times, both during and outside of work hours.
