NeuroHope is a unique, non-profit outpatient PT, OT, SLP clinic and adaptive fitness center devoted to bettering the lives of people living with paralysis. We provide affordable, extended care after hospital / insurance discharge, and strive to make long-term access to rehabilitation and wellness a reality for people recovering from spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, and other neurologic conditions.
The NeuroHope mission extends beyond traditional rehabilitation. Job description:
Occupational Therapists at NeuroHope must share a passionate understanding of NeuroHope’s mission: Patients recovering from catastrophic injury often need more care than the traditional healthcare system is able to provide. NeuroHope was created to help complete this continuum of care. NeuroHope centers its patient-centric services on activity-based therapy and integrates locomotor training, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, transcutaneous spinal stimulation (through the ARC-EX device by ONWARD Medical), vibration plate training, aquatic therapy, and other intensive, cutting edge interventions to promote neuroplasticity and maximize recovery following injury.
OTs are responsible for evaluating and treating patients, developing appropriate plans of care, and setting measureable and attainable patient goals. OTs also work closely with our PT and wellness team (kinesiologists) to communicate and develop exercise plans to form a comprehensive care program for patients.
Our patient population ranges from spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, MS, CP, and other neurologic conditions. We have a growing pediatrics population and OTs will work with patients of all ages.
Duties, including but not limited to :
1. Provide interpretation of prescriptions, perform initial evaluations, and establish treatment plans with functional and/or work-related goals
2. Monitor the progression of treatment and goals
3. Periodically and timely write communication to physicians.
4. Appropriately discharge and manage patient follow‐up
5. Ensure that all patient treatment and communication is done in timely manner. This includes but is not limited to initial evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, S.O.A.P. notes, functional status reports, functional capacity evaluations and insurance/plan of care forms as necessary.
7. Work with NeuroHope’s wellness team consisting of specialized personal trainers and interns to coordinate workout plans for our wellness gym
Qualifications :
1. Must be registered and licensed by the Indiana Occupational Therapy Committee and have passed the Occupational Therapy National Certification Examination
3. At least 3 years experience in neuro OT
4. Passionate understanding and enthusiasm for NeuroHope’s mission and purpose.
