Responsibilities
- Assist with menu planning and ensure adherence to recipes and dietary guidelines
- Prepare and cook meals according to established standards, focusing on food safety and quality
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and other appliances
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas in compliance with sanitation regulations
- Support food handling procedures, including proper storage, portioning, and labeling of ingredients
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and delivery
- Contribute to catering events by preparing food items in accordance with client specifications
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within the food industry or restaurant setting
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food handling procedures
- Skilled in recipe adherence, meal preparation, and culinary techniques such as slicing and knife skills
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and communicate clearly about food safety practices
- Demonstrated understanding of food safety management systems and catering processes
