Small Business Operations Partner (Part-Time)
Hackensack / Teaneck, NJ
10–25 hours per week | $25–30/hour depending on experience and fit
I'm a local business owner looking for a long-term operations partner to help bring structure, momentum, and execution to my business.
This is NOT a typical assistant role.
I'm looking for someone who naturally notices what needs to be done, follows through without being chased, solves problems, and enjoys helping build something from the inside.
You'll work directly with the owner.
---
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Help organize and improve daily operations
- Follow up with vendors, customers, and team members
- Track open projects and make sure nothing falls through the cracks
- Coordinate schedules and priorities
- Help improve customer experience and store operations
- Look for ways to increase local business and repeat customers
- Handle a mix of office work and hands-on tasks
- Create structure where there currently isn't any
Over time, this role may expand into helping launch new business projects and revenue opportunities.
---
WHO WILL THRIVE HERE
You naturally take ownership. You don't wait to be told every step. You communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, and enjoy organizing messy situations. You can switch between big-picture thinking and getting things done.
You don't need to know everything.
You do need common sense, initiative, and follow-through.
---
IDEAL BACKGROUND
Office manager, executive assistant, operations coordinator, small business or retail manager, project coordinator, family business, or entrepreneurial experience. All welcome if the mindset is right.

TO APPLY
Please send your resume along with answers to these five questions:
1. Tell me about a time you walked into a disorganized situation — what did you actually do?
2. If you had 20 hours a week to help improve a small retail business, what would you focus on first?
3. What naturally happens when you work somewhere? What role do you usually become?
4. Why does an entrepreneurial environment appeal to you?
5. What town do you live in and what is your weekly availability?
I read every response personally. If your answers show me you're someone who creates momentum and takes ownership — we'll talk.
