Overview
Our customer, a leading telecommunications infrastructure provider, is seeking an experienced
Construction Manager with a strong background in underground fiber construction. This role combines field leadership with project oversight, ensuring high-quality execution of underground fiber builds while managing crews and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee underground fiber construction projects from planning to completion
- Supervise field crews, including fiber splicing and underground construction teams
- Coordinate activities involving directional boring, trenching, and fiber installation
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety requirements, and quality control procedures
- Monitor daily production and provide reporting updates to management
- Troubleshoot field issues and implement effective solutions
- Participate in customer and project status calls
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and quality
- Review and interpret construction designs, maps, and prints
- Support field teams through hands-on leadership and guidance
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience managing underground fiber construction projects
- Strong knowledge of:
- Directional boring
- Trenching
- Underground fiber installation
- Fiber splicing operations
- Experience supervising field crews and subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret construction designs and prints
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on field experience in underground fiber construction
- Experience working with multiple telecom clients or large-scale infrastructure projects
Work Environment / Additional Information
- Hybrid role: approximately 50% field / 50% office
- Full-time schedule with occasional overtime
- Fieldwork in active construction environments
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000, based on experience
