The Social Services Director is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of the Social Services department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the Community and as may be directed by the Executive Director to ensure the highest degree of quality resident social services is maintained. Responsible for the overall management of the social services department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with policies, practices and procedures, which reflect person centered care, evidence based practice and current rules and regulations. This may include, but is not limited to, management of written policies, practices and procedures, which ensure social services staff in meeting the day-to-day needs of residents and the Community. Completes written and oral reports/recommendations as needed regarding the operations of the social services department. Develops methods for coordinating social services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the resident’s plan of care Is committed to the values and ethics of the social work profession with emphasis on resident empowerment and self-determination. Reflects the value that the resident comes first. This employee values the Community as the residents’ home and works to create attributes of home and models person centered care.
Education, Experience and/or Training:
- As a minimum, Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW) from an accredited college or university.
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Social Worker.
- 3 years social service work experience, desired.
- Long-term care experience, desired.
