FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Mobile Diesel Fuel Polishing
Keep the lights on — literally. Fuel Perfect is San Antonio's leading mobile fuel polishing and conditioning company, helping hospitals, data centers, banks, and mission-critical facilities keep their backup power systems running when it matters most. We're growing, and we're looking for a hands-on, reliable Field Service Technician to join our team.
No fuel polishing experience? No problem. We'll train the right person — what we're really looking for is someone mechanically curious, dependable, and great with people.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Travel to customer sites across San Antonio and throughout Texas to perform on-site diesel fuel polishing and tank conditioning.
- Set up and tear down hoses, pumps, and filtration equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate our fuel polishing system through the process while following our Method of Procedure.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical and filtration equipment.
- Collect fuel samples for lab testing and document before/after results for customers.
- Operate a company vehicle safely to transport equipment between job sites.
- Communicate clearly to customers and represent Fuel Perfect professionally on-site.
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and job documentation.
- Follow all safety protocols related to diesel fuel handling, spill prevention, and PPE use.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and inventory at our shop between jobs.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness and ability to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- General mechanical aptitude — comfort working with pumps, hoses, and small mechanical systems.
- Willingness to learn diesel fuel systems, generator basics, and industrial maintenance practices.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional, can-do attitude.
- Ability to work independently and manage your schedule across multiple job sites.
- Comfortable working both solo and as part of a two-person crew depending on the job.
- Basic tech comfort — you'll use a phone/tablet for scheduling, photos, and reporting.
- Plus, but not required: OSHA certification, HAZMAT handling experience, or a CDL.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (hoses, pumps, equipment)
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to bend, kneel, and work in mechanical/utility areas and in tight spaces.
- Standing and walking for extended periods during service calls.
SCHEDULE & TRAVEL
- Flexible, 20–30 hours per week depending on workload.
- Days vary week to week — no fixed schedule.
- No weekends required.
- Based out of San Antonio, with day travel required to job sites across Texas.
- Overnight travel is possible a couple of times per month — hotel and per diem provided.
WHY FUEL PERFECT

We offer competitive hourly pay of $18–$30/hour based on experience, plus paid, hands-on training in a specialized, in-demand trade, including help getting OSHA certified. You'll enjoy a flexible schedule that fits around your life, with no weekends required, and when overnight travel is needed, we've got you covered with hotel and per diem. No two days look the same — you'll work with clients like banks, medical facilities, and data centers, gaining experience that few technicians get. As part of our small, tight-knit team, your work is seen and valued, and as we grow, so will the opportunities — including the chance to grow into management positions for the right person who wants to build a career, not just work a job.
