Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Stocker to join our retail team at a Chevron Gas Station. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing transactions accurately, and maintaining well-stocked shelves. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience with retail sales, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced grocery store environment. Bilingual abilities and supervisory experience are a plus, helping to enhance the shopping experience for diverse customers. Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process customer transactions accurately and quickly
- Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is properly merchandised according to store standards
- Conduct product demos when applicable to promote new or featured items
- Upsell products to increase sales and enhance customer satisfaction
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and sales floor
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members during shifts when required
- Ensure compliance with store policies and safety procedures at all times
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer interaction
- Basic math skills for handling transactions, retail math calculations, and inventory counts
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, and retail sales environments
- Ability to perform product demos and upselling techniques effectively
- Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve a diverse customer base
- Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership roles within the team
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Knowledge of grocery store operations is beneficial for understanding store flow and product placement
