Haas Construction Management is an established commercial construction management company with offices in Pompton Lakes and Iselin, New Jersey.
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee commercial construction projects throughout New Jersey. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day field operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Our projects consist primarily of interior renovations of existing commercial facilities.
Applicants must have the following skills:
- Ability to travel occasionally for out-of-state projects is a plus.
- Ability to lead and manage on-site construction team
- Must be able to read blueprints, technical documents and detailed schedules fluently
- Knowledge of construction means and methods
- Carpentry Experience a Plus
- The ability to direct and document field construction operations
- Must be responsible for complying and enforcing all safety and project rules
- The ability to schedule inspections with the township and assist with the permitting process
- Good problem-solving skills. The ability and aptitude to identify and to resolve problems
- Integrity, a self-starter, desire to constantly strive for excellence
- Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic and eagerness to learn and acquire new skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Must have own transportation to travel to and from jobsites located throughout NJ
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed (occasional nights and weekends)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry
- Must be willing to perform limited, hands-on work while supervising.
- This is an ideal position for an experienced tradesperson that is looking to move into management.
