Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients across various age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, psychotherapy (including psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy), and other behavioral health interventions.
- Manage medication regimens responsibly, ensuring safe prescribing practices in accordance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Provide crisis management and immediate psychiatric care for patients experiencing acute mental health episodes or trauma, including PTSD care and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, facilitate intake processes, and ensure seamless communication within medical records systems.
- Utilize telehealth technology to extend access to psychiatric services, especially for outpatient and rural populations.
- Maintain accurate medical records, document patient progress, and adhere to all confidentiality protocols related to HIPAA compliance.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Post-residency experience in behavioral health settings, including inpatient and outpatient clinics.
- Proven expertise in pediatric psychiatry, geriatrics, addiction counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic evaluation techniques, psychopharmacology, crisis management strategies, and mental health counseling modalities.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, data collection methods, and electronic medical records systems.
- Experience providing telehealth services and managing patient assessments remotely is highly desirable.
