Duties
- Prepare a variety of salads, vegetables, and garnishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Wash, chop, slice, and assemble fresh produce and fruit with precision using proper knife skills
- Ensure all ingredients are stored correctly and maintain freshness through proper food handling procedures
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new salad combinations and seasonal offerings
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the prep area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support food service operations by assisting with meal preparation during busy periods
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of prepared salads for service
Requirements
- Prior experience in dietary departments, food service, or culinary environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation methods
- Background in restaurant or catering settings demonstrating excellent food industry knowledge
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment with attention to detail
