About Us
Join Chicago's premier surrogacy consulting firm as a Medical Case Manager supporting reproductive journeys from match through delivery. Keren-David Consulting (KDC) is a Chicago-based boutique surrogacy agency supporting international Intended Parents (IPs) through every stage of the U.S. surrogacy process. We provide end-to-end case management, coordination with fertility clinics, surrogates, and hospitals, and concierge-style services to ensure a seamless and supported journey.
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with hospital experience in Labor & Delivery or Postpartum to join our team as a Medical Case Manager. In this role, you will work alongside our Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to manage surrogacy journeys from medical clearance through delivery and discharge. The CNM provides clinical oversight and leads on medical interpretation; you will own the day-to-day case coordination, communication, and hospital-side execution that keeps each journey moving.
Key Responsibilities
Surrogate Medical Clearance (First Step of the Journey)
· Partner with fertility clinics to initiate and move the surrogate screening process forward.
· Coordinate the collection and submission of surrogate candidates' medical histories and OB records to the clinic.
· Schedule and track required labs, diagnostic testing, and OB evaluations for surrogate clearance.
· Serve as the point of contact between the clinic, surrogate, and Intended Parents throughout the clearance process.
· Communicate clinic determinations and clearance progress clearly to Intended Parents, in partnership with the CNM.
· Track all steps of the clearance timeline to ensure timely readiness for treatment.
Ongoing Medical & Clinical Liaison
· Relay medical records, labs, and treatment updates between the clinic, surrogate, and Intended Parents throughout the journey.
· Work with the CNM to translate clinical information into clear, empathetic language for international IPs.
· Support surrogates in understanding medication protocols, appointment expectations, and delivery preparation.
· Ensure accuracy and professionalism in all medical-related communications, escalating clinical questions to the CNM as needed.
Case Management
· Manage assigned journeys comprehensively from surrogate clearance with the fertility clinic through delivery and postpartum with her local OB/GYN.
· Coordinate all appointments, ultrasounds, OB visits, and delivery planning.
· Anticipate case milestones and flag risks proactively to the CNM and agency leadership to avoid delays.
Hospital & Delivery Coordination
· Act as primary medical contact with hospitals at the time of delivery — leveraging direct hospital experience to anticipate workflows, paperwork, and team dynamics on the unit.
· Support IPs in navigating hospital procedures, newborn care basics, and post-birth documentation (birth certificate, passport, Social Security).
· Collaborate with the CNM, attorneys, hospital staff, and agency team to ensure seamless delivery and discharge.
Client & Surrogate Support
· Balance advocacy for surrogates with accurate, transparent representation of IPs' needs.
· Provide culturally sensitive support across time zones.
Team Collaboration & Documentation
· Maintain detailed, confidential case records in internal systems.
· Work closely with the CNM, internal agency staff, billing specialists, attorneys, and insurance brokers.
· Draft case updates and summaries for clients and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
· Active U.S. RN license in good standing
· Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
· Minimum 2 years of hospital-based clinical experience in Labor & Delivery or Mother/Baby (Postpartum).
· Strong working knowledge of OB care, intrapartum and postpartum nursing, and newborn basics.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
· Comfortable working collaboratively under the clinical guidance of a CNM.
· Availability to work hybrid from the Chicago office several days per week.
Preferred:
· Experience with assisted reproductive technology (ART), surrogacy, or fertility medicine.
· Familiarity with clinic protocols for surrogate screening and IVF.
· Comfort working with international clients across cultures and time zones.
· Additional language skills (Hebrew, Portuguese, Spanish, etc.).
Compensation & Benefits
· Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
· Paid time off and flexible hybrid schedule (mix of office and remote).
· 401(k).
· Opportunity to work with international families on life-changing journeys.
· Professional growth within a fast-expanding boutique firm.
