Key Responsibilities
- Perform operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities for critical facility infrastructure supporting data center operations.
- Monitor and respond to building and equipment alarms, prioritizing system reliability and uptime.
- Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Utilize established operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and emergency response protocols to support safe facility operations.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors and service providers performing maintenance and project-related work.
- Support electrical switching, lockout/tagout activities, and safe work permitting processes.
- Assist with equipment modifications, operational improvements, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis efforts to prevent recurring failures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and operational documentation.
- Support capacity planning, performance tracking, and reporting initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company safety programs, environmental requirements, and industry best practices.
- Provide on-call and emergency response support as required in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.
Essential Requirements
- 7+ years of experience supporting mission-critical facilities, data centers, building engineering operations, or similar technical environments.
- Journeyman-level knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or related building systems.
- Experience operating and maintaining critical infrastructure equipment in high-availability environments.
- Proficiency with CMMS platforms and maintenance management processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and maintenance activities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, procedures, and system information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills and customer-service orientation.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including after-hours support and emergency response situations.
Desirable Requirements
- Associate degree, technical certification, or formal training in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC/R, or related disciplines.
- Experience supporting Tier II, Tier III, or Tier IV data center facilities.
- HVAC certification, Journeyman Electrician license, or Master Electrician license.
- Knowledge of capacity planning and KPI reporting within critical facilities environments.
- Experience with building automation systems, monitoring platforms, and graphical control interfaces.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Visio, or related technical software.
- Experience participating in root cause analysis and reliability improvement programs.
