Design Engineer
Are you an early-career mechanical engineer looking to grow your design experience with a global leader in heavy-duty vehicles? We are seeking a Design Engineer to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of vehicle components and systems. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers while gaining hands-on experience throughout the full product development lifecycle.
In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to develop innovative, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for next-generation heavy-duty vehicles.
What You'll Do
Mechanical Design & Product Development

Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for heavy-duty vehicle applications.
- Create and modify 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and bills of materials.
- Perform engineering calculations and basic design analysis to validate component performance.
- Assist with material selection, component sizing, and manufacturability improvements.
- Support new product development as well as enhancements to existing products.
- Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, drawing practices, and company procedures.
Engineering Support

Work closely with senior engineers on engineering projects and design activities.
- Prepare technical documentation including reports, design packages, and presentations.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and engineering change activities.
- Investigate design-related issues and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing during product launches and production.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Purchasing teams to improve product quality and production efficiency.
- Communicate technical information with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Internship experience or at least 6 months of engineering experience.
- Experience using 3D CAD software.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, automotive, or heavy-duty vehicle components.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Creo CAD.
- Exposure to heavy-duty vehicle, automotive, or off-highway equipment design.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product development.
- Experience supporting engineering projects from concept through production.
