Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients to streamline kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate meal service efficiently during busy periods
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, including storage, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and dish presentation ideas
- Assist with catering orders and special event setups to deliver exceptional service in diverse settings
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings with a focus on quality and efficiency
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques across different cuisines
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices within the food industry
- Experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus, demonstrating attention to special dietary needs
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling procedures
- Fine dining experience is highly desirable for maintaining elevated presentation standards
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to serve guests promptly while maintaining a positive attitude
