Maintenance & Grounds Technician
Location: Cherokee Outdoor Resort – Lakefront, Vonore, TN
Type: Full-Time | On-site | Year-Round
Cherokee Outdoor Resort is looking for a dependable, skilled Maintenance & Grounds Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, takes pride in keeping a property in great shape, and has a well-rounded maintenance background.
You’ll help care for cabins, buildings, and select outdoor areas throughout the resort. The right person will be comfortable handling a variety of tasks including light plumbing, minor electrical work, general repairs, small construction projects, and grounds upkeep.
What You’ll Be Doing
General Maintenance
- Perform routine repairs and maintenance in cabins, common areas, and other resort buildings
- Carry out daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual projects and/or inspections and submit daily maintenance report to management.
- Handle light plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and addressing basic water-related issues
- Perform light electrical work such as replacing outlets, switches, fixtures, and troubleshooting minor issues
- Repair drywall, trim, doors, baseboards, and other interior features
- Assist with small construction and improvement projects as needed
Exterior & Property Upkeep
- Repair and maintain exterior features such as siding, porches, decks, railings, and trim
- Help with minor roof, gutter, and exterior repair work
- Keep certain parts of the grounds in good condition, including outdoor common areas, walkways, fencing, and other visible property features
- Support general groundskeeping efforts to help the resort stay clean, safe, and welcoming by doing a daily walkthrough
Resort Support
- Inspect cabins, buildings, and outdoor areas for maintenance needs
- Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Help with preventative maintenance and property improvement projects
- Respond to maintenance issues with a positive attitude and team-first mindset
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in general maintenance, property maintenance, or a similar hands-on role
- Working knowledge of light plumbing, light electrical, general repairs, and basic construction
- Ability to assist with grounds upkeep and outdoor property care
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and standard safety equipment
- Able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Friendly, professional, and respectful with guests and fellow team members
Preferred Experience
- Experience working at a resort, campground, hotel, apartment community, or similar property
- Familiarity with cabin or lodge-style buildings is a plus
- Groundskeeping or outdoor property maintenance experience is a plus
