Nice to meet you!
I'm a 57-year-old active woman who lives in Machesney Park (near Rock Cut) with my husband, 2 young adult children and a somewhat large, spoiled "pound puppy" dog . I use a wheelchair due to a neuromuscular disability, Distal Spinal Muscular Atrophy. My Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) are a vital part of my life. I have over ten years of experience hiring and training caregivers who assist me with every aspect of my daily routine. Depending on a team of PCAs to be able to eat, sleep, and maintain my overall health and well-being can be an overwhelming process, but is also rewarding! This job takes place in a queer-friendly home that is enhanced by employees who are responsible, organized, sincere, and respectful of my home and privacy.
No prior experience is necessary, but open-mindedness is an imperative. All PCAs are formally hired (W-2 job) and receive comprehensive paid training. This job is ideal for individuals who plan to become part of the medical workforce, or for those who are naturally attentive, eager to learn and demonstrate a can-do attitude with complex healthcare needs.
