Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of material handling equipment, including reach trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks, to efficiently load, unload, and organize inventory. This role plays a vital part in maintaining smooth warehouse operations, ensuring safety standards are upheld, and supporting overall distribution processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, excellent attention to safety protocols, and experience with warehouse management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklift trucks such as reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to move materials within the warehouse
- Load and unload shipments accurately and efficiently while adhering to safety standards
- Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functioning
- Utilize barcode scanning technology for logistics tracking and inventory management
- Assist with order picking and shipping & receiving tasks to fulfill customer orders accurately
- Maintain organized storage areas by stacking pallets safely and managing inventory locations
- Follow OSHA guidelines and warehouse safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries
- Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with supervisors on material flow
- Perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while using proper techniques
- Collaborate with warehouse management system (WMS) to update inventory records
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, or similar material handling equipment
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution processes
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair and maintenance
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards in production environments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely
- Basic math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying shipments
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving or order picking preferred
- Valid forklift certification or relevant training in forklift safety protocols
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
