Position Overview: Venue Staff play a key role in the successful execution of weddings and events. This hands-on position involves both physical tasks and guest-facing responsibilities to ensure each event runs smoothly and to venue standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and/or tear down ceremony and reception spaces, including:
- Stacking and arranging chairs (including outdoor chairs)
- Flipping spaces between ceremony and reception
- Setting up and tearing down venue-provided decor
- General cleanup and trash removal
- Support Lead Coordinator during weddings
- Remain on-site during events to assist with guest needs and vendor coordination
- Greet and coordinate vendors upon arrival; ensure the DJ is set up with venue-provided equipment
- Ensure venue policies are upheld at all times, including:
- Preventing damage to property
- Enforcing designated smoking areas
- Monitoring and addressing any alcohol policy violations
- Comfortable using a lift and ladder to hang drapes or other décor
- Complete down-time duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to safely move, position, and arrange furniture and décor as required for the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to perform essential job duties that involve physical activity, which may include working in various weather conditions
- Ability to perform tasks that may require working at elevated heights, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Flexible availability, including late nights and weekends
Schedule: A mixture of closing and opening shifts depending on need. 1-2 shifts a weekend
- Closing Shift: Approximately 5:00–7:00 PM (start time varies) until 1:00 AM or later (based on event cleanup and packages). Ex: for a 4:30 ceremony start, closing shift would be 6 pm til 1 am.
- Opening Shift: 8:00 AM-10:00AM and then takes a break after completion of opening duties and returns 1.5 hours prior to ceremony start. Remains on-site until approximately 2 hours after the ceremony ends. Ex: for a 4:30 ceremony start, opening shift would be: 8 am to approx 10 am, break, return 3 pm til 7 pm
