Motorcoach Driver Job Summary
Sunway Charters is seeking professional motorcoach drivers to safely transport passengers on charters and/or scheduled routes while delivering a professional, customer-first experience. This role is responsible for operating a motorcoach in compliance with all traffic laws and applicable federal/state regulations, supporting passenger needs (including ADA assistance), and completing required trip documentation. Drivers represent the company brand on every trip through safe driving, clear communication, and a clean, well-managed coach environment.
Motorcoach Driver Job Duties and Responsibilities
Operate a motorcoach safely in varying conditions (day/night, city/highway, weather), prioritizing passenger safety at all times.
Provide excellent customer service: greet passengers, give clear trip updates, and maintain a calm, professional tone even when issues arise.
Assist passengers as needed (including baggage handling and boarding/deboarding support, including for passengers with disabilities).
Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections; report defects or maintenance needs promptly; keep the coach clean and presentable.
Follow assigned routes/itineraries and schedules while driving smoothly and defensively.
Accurately complete required paperwork and/or electronic logs, trip reports, and incident documentation.
Comply with Hours of Service rules for passenger-carrying operations and all company safety policies.
Communicate effectively with Dispatch/Operations regarding delays, incidents, passenger needs, and equipment issues.
Motorcoach Driver Requirements
Possess a valid Class B CDL, including Passenger (P) endorsement.
Possess or be able to obtain a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card)
Willingness to comply with all Hours of Service requirements for passenger operations.
Strong safety mindset, clean professional appearance, and dependable attendance.
Be at least 25 years of age (21–24 with prior CDL experience)
Prior motorcoach/charter/intercity/transit driving experience preferred
Comfort using mobile apps/tablets for dispatch communication and trip documentation.
Ability to sit for extended periods
Maintain alertness for long drives
Safely handle typical luggage/baggage assistance as required by the trip.
Be physically able to lift up to 100 lbs.
Ability to work a flexible schedule (early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays) and occasional overnights, depending on trip needs.
