Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating, loading, and securing frieght on a stepdeck trailer. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage routes efficiently while delivering goods in a timely manner. Home nightly and weekends . gradual pay increases. Small company, more freedom.
Duties
- Operate 53’ stepdeck with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Execute route driving to deliver products to designated locations while adhering to scheduled timelines.
- Load and unload cargo as necessary, ensuring that all items are secured for transport.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups, including logs of hours worked and mileage driven.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any potential issues.
- Adhere to all company policies regarding safety protocols and transportation regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Ability to operate various heavy machinery enough to drive up ramps and secure
- Ability to secure flatbed/stepdeck cargo
- Strong skills in loading and unloading cargo efficiently.
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS technology.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices on the road.
