Position Overview
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for medium to large-scale projects while serving as a technical resource for the electrical engineering team. This position offers a balance of technical design, project leadership, client interaction, and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering design for medium and large projects from concept through construction.
- Design power distribution, lighting, emergency power, grounding, and low-voltage building systems.
- Review and approve engineering calculations, technical documents, and construction drawings.
- Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure code compliance and quality standards.
- Review product submittals, shop drawings, and respond to RFIs.
- Conduct site visits to support construction, troubleshoot field issues, and verify installations.
- Prepare technical reports, studies, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Develop project work plans and assist with project scheduling and resource planning.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the electrical team.
- Support project managers with project execution, budgets, and client communication.
QualificationsEducation & Licensure
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Experience
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience within the AEC consulting industry
- Healthcare project experience is highly preferred
- Experience leading electrical design for medium to large commercial building projects
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Electrical power distribution
- Lighting and lighting controls
- Emergency power systems
- Building codes and industry standards
- QA/QC procedures
- Experience with industry-standard engineering and design software, including Revit and AutoCAD
Leadership
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong mentoring and staff development skills
- Ability to oversee project quality, technical execution, and client expectations
Project Experience
