Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to and from job sites, ensuring safe and efficient delivery while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of route driving, as well as the ability to operate various types of trucks, including manual transmission vehicles.
Duties
- Safely operate a dump truck to transport materials such as gravel, sand, and construction debris.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Plan and follow efficient routes for timely deliveries while considering traffic patterns and road conditions.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery times, and materials transported.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site managers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Load and unload materials as necessary, utilizing appropriate equipment when required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while on the road and at job sites.
- Maintain cleanliness of truck (i.e. weekly truck wash, debris, clutter, etc.)
Skills
- Proficient in route driving with a strong understanding of local roads and traffic patterns.
- Experience in operating various types of freight vehicles including roll-off trucks, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, and tankers is preferred.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining logs and records.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- A valid commercial driver's license (CDL), CLASS B is required along with a clean driving record.
- MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS CDL DRIVING EXPERIENCE (NO EXCEPTIONS).
