South Hills Middle School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic instructional coach to support our educators in enhancing teaching practices and improving student outcomes. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teachers to identify instructional needs and develop tailored coaching plans.
- Provide ongoing support through classroom observations, feedback sessions, and co-planning lessons.
- Facilitate professional development workshops and training sessions focused on best practices in pedagogy and curriculum implementation.
- Analyze student performance data to inform instructional strategies and interventions.
- Encourage the use of technology and innovative teaching tools to enhance student engagement and learning.
- Foster a positive and collaborative environment among staff, promoting a growth mindset and a shared vision for success.
- Serve as a resource for teachers in the implementation of curriculum standards and assessments.
- Support the development of teacher-led professional learning communities to encourage peer collaboration and reflection.
- Stay current with educational research and trends, sharing relevant insights with faculty.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of instructional materials and resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification with a focus on middle school education.
- Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience at the middle school level.
- Proven experience in instructional coaching or a similar role is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment practices, and differentiated instruction.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with teachers and staff.
