Duties
- Greet guests warmly, take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, including wine pairings and cocktail options, to enhance guest experience through upselling techniques.
- Serve food, beverages, spirits, and cocktails with professionalism and flair, maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation.
- Process cash and credit transactions efficiently while handling cash handling responsibilities with accuracy.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols.
- Assist with food preparation or plating when necessary, supporting kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Foster guest relations by addressing inquiries promptly, resolving concerns professionally, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction in a fine dining setting.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service roles within restaurants or the food industry, especially in fine dining environments.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items including spirits, wine, cocktails, and specialty dishes to increase sales.
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience with beverage service including spirits, wine knowledge, cocktail preparation, and drink presentation.
