Job Summary
Engineered Asphalt Materials is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Nighttime Asphalt Plant Laborer to join our plant team. This position plays a critical role in supporting asphalt production during overnight shifts by assisting plant operators, maintaining equipment cleanliness, performing routine labor tasks, and helping ensure safe and efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate is hardworking, reliable, comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of asphalt plant equipment.
- Perform general labor duties including shoveling, sweeping, cleaning, and material handling.
- Monitor plant areas for housekeeping and safety concerns.
- Help load, unload, and move materials as directed.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs.
- Assist operators with production activities to maintain efficient plant operations.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support preventative maintenance activities during downtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and plant management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous construction, industrial, manufacturing, or asphalt plant experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work around heavy equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Willingness to work overnight shifts and overtime.
- Strong work ethic and attention to safety.
- Reliable transportation to and from the plant.
Working Conditions
- Outdoor work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to dust, noise, heat, and moving mechanical equipment.
- Nighttime schedule typically starting between 5PM & 7PM.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required and provided as applicable.
