Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Litigation Attorney to join our litigation team and handle complex business disputes on behalf of corporate and individual clients. The ideal candidate will manage a varied caseload focused on commercial litigation mattersparticularly breach of contract and partnership disputesproviding strategic advocacy from presuit investigation through trial and appeal. This role combines courtroom advocacy, client counseling, and collaborative case management to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining a high level of professionalism and business development acumen.
Key Responsibilities

Lead all phases of commercial litigation including presuit assessment, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, hearings, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.

Handle claims involving breach of contract, partnership disputes, business torts, shareholder and LLC disputes, and related commercial matters.

Develop case strategy and manage daytoday litigation activities, including drafting complaints, answers, motions, briefs, and settlement documents.

Conduct legal research and draft persuasive written advocacy for state and federal courts; prepare and argue dispositive and evidentiary motions.

Manage discovery and ediscovery processes: prepare and respond to document requests, interrogatories, depositions, and subpoenas; coordinate with experts and third parties.

Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings; present oral arguments and advocate effectively at hearings and trial.

Counsel clients on risk assessment, dispute resolution options, and litigation budgets; maintain clear, timely client communication and status reporting.

Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals; delegate tasks, review work product, and provide constructive feedback.

Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups on transactional and regulatory matters that intersect with litigation.

Support business development initiatives: develop client relationships, prepare pitches, and contribute to proposals and thought leadership.

Maintain accurate case management records, meet billing and administrative requirements, and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the relevant state; federal court admission preferred.

3+ years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm or inhouse legal department (midlevel to senior associates encouraged to apply).

Proven experience handling breach of contract claims and partnership/LLC/shareholder disputes in state and/or federal court.

Strong litigation skills including motion drafting, discovery management, deposition preparation, and courtroom advocacy; trial experience highly desirable.

Excellent legal research, analytical reasoning, and persuasive writing skills; ability to distill complex facts into clear legal strategies.

Demonstrated negotiation and alternative dispute resolution experience with a track record of achieving favorable settlements.

Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently while collaborating in a team environment; strong client management skills.

High professional standards, sound judgment, integrity, and attention to detail.

Proficiency with litigation support tools and ediscovery platforms; competence with Microsoft Office and case management software.

Willingness to travel for hearings, depositions, and client meetings as needed; business development and relationshipbuilding aptitude preferred.
